UPDATE:
A BOUNCY BABY BOY!
Jaime was born in a small
town nestled in the interior, called William’s Lake. She spent her younger
years in Prince George, where the love for all creatures found her (literally).
On the walk home from school, she use to collect all sorts of animals
(but she always told her mom they followed her.) Jaime’s aunt always
tells her how her parents would pawn her off on them, so they could
go for a vacation without their little terror. She would spend days
on the farm, where she would get herself into so much trouble (antagonizing
the cows, playing in the mud with the pig’s etc…)-she loves farm life.
From as far back as Jaime can remember, she had a black and white cat,
that she named "Fancy Pants" (her brother used to call her Frying Pan
to tease her). That cat played dress-up, went for walks, and to school
with them for show and tell, she even use to go camping with the family.
Jaime has numerous pictures of herself as a young child and she was
never more than an arm’s length away. She had a long precious life until
Jaime was about 11 years old. Her age caught up with her, but to Jaime
she will always be alive in her heart and dreams.
Jaime’s dad was transferred to the Sunshine Coast when she was about
9 years old. Here, her love for horses grew and the dream of having
one of her own came true. He was a PB Polish Arabian gelding named Zan
and the love of her life for a couple years. Since him she’s had five
other horses throughout her life, she’s worked on a dude ranch and at
the breeding farm. So, needless to say she’s had a lot of different
experiences with horses of all ages and attitudes!
For the past ten years, Jaime’s had the pleasure of working at Maple
Creek Farm, which is the largest equine breeding facility on the coast.
Every spring there’s at least four, new, small hooves hitting the ground.
Watching the foals grow into enormous, majestic animals and all the
things in life that they experience is the most glorious part of her
job.

Her new horse, Tango, whom she plans on breeding using artificial
insemination in April 2005!! Stayed tuned for foal updates!

April 30/05 - Hooray!! Tango has been confirmed in-foal to
Sempatico from Virginia USA - he is homozygous for the pinto
gene - the foal is guaranteed to be colored like him!

Other than
working, she loves spending time with her soon-to-be husband Will and
their baby Chase. As of 1998, Jaime was one of the first females to
join the SCDRA (Sunshine Coast Drag Racing Association). Will has a
1988 Ford Ranger, which has a 460 cubic inch motor and nitrous oxide
that he occasionally uses. She thinks it’s the fastest truck on the
coast. Come up to the track in Wilson Creek in spring or fall each year
to cheer him on!
These past 8 years here have been wonderful, educational, and very rewarding.
Jaime loves working with animals, nursing them back to health and watching
all the puppies and kittens grow up. She plans on staying here for a
very long time to get to know all of you and your pets. Come in and
say "Hi!" some time.
